Choose words you can recognize in a squad list
Start with one word you can read quickly. Add another if you want a longer handle with a clearer shape. Copper and Finch are demonstration inputs. Compare CopperFinch with FinchCopper, then read the individual words. The opening word often becomes the part you say when calling someone in a squad.
Hold the same input while you compare the alternatives. If every variation feels awkward, replace one word and repeat the comparison. That makes the decision easier to trace than changing both words on every attempt. Use a fictional detail or something you are happy to share publicly as the anchor.
Inspect the separator as part of the name
With two words, the workshop offers joined, dot, hyphen and underscore forms. Each separator is visible beside a character count. Read the joined candidate first, then compare each separated version. A dot can make a word boundary easier to see while an underscore can stand out more in some layouts. Your actual screen is the place to judge that difference.
The candidates use an English-letter subset with these three separator choices. The local shortlist keeps four to twenty characters, with twenty used only as a workshop length preference. It drops a whole candidate that falls outside the preference and keeps the original source words intact. Inspect a shorter single-word candidate if a pair feels too long.
Choose the account route before committing
The platform menu changes the management reminder above the results. PC points you toward the official account page, Switch toward Change Alias, and mobile toward Profile then Change Alias. PlayStation and Xbox players get a reminder to review their linked platform account. Switching the menu leaves your chosen words available so you can compare the same shortlist in the right context.
Keep your favourite draft and a shorter backup in a private note. Open the relevant official screen, read its current conditions and review the exact text before confirming an account action. The copy button on this page copies only the selected candidate. The workshop has no account connection.
Can I use a frame or weapon name as my player alias?
First decide what you want the label to identify. For a player alias, read it as the name another player would use to address you. For your own equipment concept or story, record the concept in your notes and review the name in that scene. Keeping the purpose written down helps when the same favourite word appears in several places.
