Name the group rather than a cat's rank
The official Warrior Cats introduction explains changing name endings through examples of individual cats at different ranks. That passage is about a cat's name. It does not mean a fictional group needs a kit, apprentice or leader ending. This workshop drafts a group label using Clan, with no assigned rank or membership.

A fan-writing question worth answering
In a reader discussion about invented Clans, the original poster explains group names through a story event and the territory. This is one fan author's approach, not a franchise rule. We use the question as a reason to keep your own explanation beside a draft, without copying the poster's group names or history. The page shows a relative age; we have not verified its exact publication date.
Choose a reason before combining roots
Write one or two short root words that matter to the group you are imagining. You can begin with a place detail, a shared object or a change in your own story. Then put a short explanation in the separate planning-note box. The explanation comes from you; the tool does not invent a founding event to justify an attractive name.
Keep that note specific enough to guide a decision. A root that sounds pleasant can still be a poor fit for the territory you have already described. Compare the candidate with your note and remove it if the connection feels forced. There is no requirement to accept all results or to copy a familiar official group to make your own story readable.
Inspect the root and attach Clan once
The tool tries each supplied root, the joined roots and their reversed order. It shows the root separately from the finished group label so you can see what changed. It makes a finite set rather than drawing from a hidden bank of established Clans. English-letter inputs keep the word boundaries and transformations straightforward to inspect.
A terminal Clan that you already typed is removed before the single final Clan is added. Repeated terminal copies are also removed, and repeated root inputs are deduplicated. An input containing only Clan is rejected because it supplies no naming root. This is a local formatting operation, not a claim that every similar-looking word is an official name or an accepted linguistic construction.
Compare group labels at the same story scale
Read a candidate as the name of the whole group, then imagine a short sentence introducing one member of that group. Do not change the group label each time you change the rank of an individual cat. Keeping those two entities separate avoids an accidental mixture of a collective name and a personal identity of a character.
Try the single-root alternatives before assuming the compound is stronger. Two words may produce a longer label whose connection to your setting is less clear. If reversing the roots changes the emphasis, compare both against the same note. The tool does not score loyalty, fighting ability or closeness to the books, and a longer result does not create more detailed lore.
Record what is invented and what remains unverified
The name-copy controls copy only the finished group label. Your explanatory note stays beside the candidates and is not silently pasted into the name. Keep the note in your own writing materials when you select a candidate, including any decision to change a root later. That gives you a traceable creative choice rather than a generated claim of history.
No canonical-name search or fan-community availability check is performed. An independently composed combination may resemble a name someone else already uses. Review relevant setting references and your intended community before publishing a story or taking a commercial step. This workshop makes no rights clearance or official-affiliation promise and does not create an account, group page or saved history.
Warrior Cat Clan Generator questions
Does the group name need an individual cat's rank ending?
No. This tool names a fictional group. The official rank discussion concerns individual cats and is not a group-name generator specification.
Why did entering Clan twice produce only one ending?
The workshop normalizes repeated terminal Clan text before adding its single group label ending. A root is still required.
Are these established Clans or official new groups?
No. These are fan-created drafts from your roots, without a canon or ownership check.
