Which field are you naming?
The official Stardew Valley site describes making your own farm. The community wiki’s character customization guide distinguishes the player's Name from Farm Name and describes the text box in terms of rendered width. This tool serves the farm field. It does not model the game font, check your save or establish a universal character limit.
Give each word a job
Choose one word that anchors the place and, if you like, a second that hints at the first season you want to play. A third word can help distinguish this farm from another save. Make the first word one you would be happy to keep on its own; it gives you a natural fallback if the full phrase feels crowded.
Start with a detail you can picture, then decide whether you need to tell anyone more. If you plan to grow berries but already have another save named for berries, the setting may be the better anchor. The tool rearranges or joins your own words and also offers single-word options. It does not import a list of official places or decide which farm map to choose.
Compare the text you enter with the label you read
Each result has a base draft. That is the exact text the Copy name button sends to your clipboard. Turn on the optional label to read that same draft with Farm after it. For example, Sedge Loom can appear as Sedge Loom Farm in this preview while copying only Sedge Loom. If your draft already ends in the separate word Farm, the preview leaves it alone; any Farm you included is still part of what you copy.
Try the label both ways before settling. If you keep seeing a word twice, revise the base text and inspect the new result rather than assuming the page edited your choice. This preview is a reading aid for this workshop. It does not show what the game automatically adds in every menu or dialogue.
Use a length preference as a shortlist filter
The number next to a draft counts the characters in the copied base, including spaces. The budget is your preference. Lower it to compare shorter whole options; raise it to recover fuller options. The tool drops drafts that exceed your preference without trimming them, and it does not charge the optional preview word against the base budget.
Two drafts can have equal character counts but take up different amounts of screen space in a proportional font. Use the count to narrow choices, then inspect the text in the actual Farm Name field on your device before confirming. Keep one shorter option available in case you prefer how it reads there. This site has not measured game pixel fit.
Choose a name that still makes sense next season
Read your two finalists as if you were asking a friend to join the save. If the names sound alike, swap the shared word for a different detail. For a solo save, try a similar comparison against your existing farm names. The point is to recognize the right save later, even after your first crop plan changes.
Keep the longer phrase in a note if it tells a story you like. The short option can still be the name you type. If neither option reads well on its own, change the anchor word first rather than repeatedly shrinking the same phrase.
Farm name questions
Does the Farm preview change what I copy?
No. The copied text is always the base draft shown above the preview.
Does a passing character count mean my name fits in Stardew Valley?
No. The count is a local comparison tool. The community wiki describes the field in terms of width, and this page does not simulate it.
Can the generator rename an existing save?
No. It produces text and has no access to your save files.
